  • 2 medium Ripe Bananas Must be yellow with minimal green.
  • 1 cup Glutinous Rice Flour Also known as Mochiko flour.
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Water Adjust for thickness.
  • Cornstarch for dusting

Method
 

Mochi Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  2. Add glutinous rice flour and sugar to the mashed bananas; mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually add water to achieve a thick but pourable consistency.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a microwave-safe dish and cover loosely.
  5. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, stirring halfway, until the mixture becomes translucent.
  6. Dust your hands and surface with cornstarch, scoop the mochi mixture and shape into small balls or discs.
  7. Refrigerate the shaped mochi for at least 1 hour before serving.
