Step-by-Step Instructions
- Rinse 2 cups of fresh strawberries, 2 jalapeños, and 1 medium onion under cold water. Puree until smooth in a food processor.
- In a large pot, combine the pureed mixture with 1 cup of bourbon, 1 cup of vinegar, 1 cup of brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. Stir to blend.
- Heat the pot over medium-high heat until it boils, about 5 minutes, then reduce heat to low and simmer for at least 30 minutes.
- Ladle the hot sauce into sterilized canning jars, leaving a 1/4 inch headspace.
- Wipe the rims of the jars, place sterilized lids on top, and screw on metal rings until fingertip-tight.
- Process the jars in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes to preserve.
- Remove jars from the boiling water and cool for 24 hours.
