  • 4 grams agar agar powder Do not substitute with gelatin
  • 1 cup water Room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Adjust per taste
  • 1 cup coconut milk Use full-fat for richness
For the Garnish
  • 1 cup strawberries Can substitute with blueberries or raspberries
  • splash almond milk Any milk can work as a substitute

Method
 

Step‑By‑Step Instructions
  1. Whisk 4 grams of agar agar powder into 1 cup of room temperature water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-high until boiling, then cook for 1 more minute, stirring continuously to dissolve.
  2. Reduce heat, whisk in 2 tablespoons of sugar until dissolved, then stir in 1 cup of coconut milk. Cook for another minute until bubbling.
  3. Remove from heat and cool for about 3 minutes before pouring into a prepared heatproof container.
  4. Pour the mixture into the container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  5. Cut into cubes, serve in bowls with quartered strawberries and a splash of almond milk.
