Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season lamb and brown for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Transfer to slow cooker.
  2. In the same skillet, add minced onions and garlic, sauté until soft, about 3-4 minutes. Add spices and cook for another minute.
  3. Add browned lamb to slow cooker with onion mixture, crushed tomatoes, and broth. Stir gently to coat lamb.
  4. Set slow cooker to LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 4 hours until lamb is tender.
  5. After cooking, stir in yogurt or coconut milk. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve over basmati rice, garnished with yogurt, cilantro, tomatoes, and cucumbers.
