Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by peeling and chopping the sweet potatoes into even-sized cubes, about 1 to 2 inches thick. Place the chopped sweet potatoes in a large pot.
- Fill the pot with enough water to cover the sweet potatoes and add a generous pinch of salt. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for about 20–25 minutes until tender.
- Carefully drain the sweet potatoes in a colander and let them steam for a couple of minutes with the lid slightly ajar.
- Using a potato ricer or a hand masher, mash the sweet potatoes until smooth, about 2–3 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, gently heat the half-and-half and butter until the butter melts. Gradually pour this creamy blend into the mashed sweet potatoes while stirring.
- Taste the mixture and season generously with salt, black pepper, and cinnamon as desired. Mix well.

Notes
Ensure to properly drain the sweet potatoes to avoid a watery texture and consider adding roasted garlic for flavor customization.
