Step-by-Step Instructions for Fresh Strawberry Mint Lemonade
- In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and a handful of fresh mint leaves. Heat over medium until it reaches a low boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let it simmer for 1 minute, then remove from heat and cover. Allow it to steep for 30 minutes.
- While the mint syrup is steeping, prepare the strawberries. In a blender, combine 1 cup of fresh strawberries with ¼ cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Blend until smooth, then strain through a fine mesh sieve if preferred.
- In a large pitcher, combine the strawberry puree with the remaining lemon juice and add 2 to 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to blend the flavors together.
- Strain out the mint leaves from the syrup and add it to the pitcher, adjusting sweetness to your taste. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
- When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice, pour the chilled lemonade, and garnish with lemon slices, mint sprigs, and whole strawberries.
