  • Electric mixer
  • Baking pan
  • Spatula

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare your baking pan by greasing a 13x9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, root beer, water, canola oil, root beer extract, and eggs. Mix for about 2 minutes until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the greased baking pan and spread evenly.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, performing the toothpick test to check for doneness.
  5. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. While the cake is cooling, beat together the cream cheese, softened butter, root beer extract, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl. Gradually add powdered sugar until fluffy.
  7. Once the cake is completely cooled, frost the top generously with the cream cheese frosting.
  8. Refrigerate the cake for at least 30 minutes before serving.
