Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Warm 1 cup of whole milk in a saucepan. Sprinkle 2 1/4 teaspoons of instant yeast over and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine yeast mixture, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup melted butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt. Gradually add 3 1/2 cups flour and mix until a smooth ball forms.
  3. Cover the dough with a towel and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough to ½-inch thickness, cut with donut cutter, and let rise for another 45 minutes on parchment paper.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C). Fry donuts for about 45 seconds on each side until golden brown.
  6. Whisk together 2 cups of powdered sugar, 3-4 tablespoons of milk, and pinch of salt for the glaze.
