Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Peach Tea
  1. Combine 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water, and 2 sliced peaches in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir and mash peaches to release juices for about 5 minutes until boiling, then reduce heat to low.
  2. Simmer the peach syrup on low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until flavors are infused and syrup thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool. Strain peach mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a glass jar or bowl, discarding solids.
  4. In a large pitcher, pour in 6 cups of filtered water and add 3 black tea bags. Boil and steep for about 5 minutes. Remove tea bags.
  5. Let tea cool at room temperature for 1-2 hours, then refrigerate until cold.
  6. Combine chilled tea with cooled peach syrup in pitcher and stir well. Serve over ice.

Notes

Use ripe peaches for maximum sweetness and start with less sugar; you can always add more later. Prepare syrup in advance and store in the fridge for a week. Experiment with other fruits for variations.
