Base
  • 3 cups water for brewing tea
  • 3 tablespoons loose leaf green tea for rich flavor and antioxidants
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice from about 4-5 small lemons
Sweetening
  • cup honey or other sweeteners like agave or stevia

  • 2-4 leaves fresh mint optional for garnish

Equipment

  • Kettle
  • heat-safe pitcher

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by boiling 3 cups of water in a kettle. Once boiling, remove it from heat and add 3 tablespoons of loose leaf green tea; let it steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Strain the tea into a heat-safe pitcher and allow it to cool to room temperature.
  3. While the tea cools, prepare fresh lemon juice by rolling 4-5 small lemons on a countertop, then cut and squeeze each lemon to yield about ½ cup of juice.
  4. Pour the freshly squeezed lemon juice into the cooled green tea and stir gently until well combined.
  5. Next, add approximately ⅓ cup of honey, agave nectar, or your preferred natural sweetener to the mixture. Stir thoroughly until dissolved.
  6. To serve, fill a glass with 3-4 cups of ice cubes and pour the prepared lemonade over the ice. Optionally, garnish with fresh mint leaves.
