- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the casserole.
- If using fresh green beans, rinse and cut off the ends. Blanch in boiling water for about 2 minutes, then drain and plunge into cold water.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, and soy sauce. Whisk until smooth.
- Add the prepared green beans and two-thirds of the crispy fried onions. Season with pepper and fold gently.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9x9-inch casserole dish.
- Bake for approximately 25 minutes or air fry for about 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven (or air fryer) and sprinkle remaining crispy fried onions on top.
- Return to oven for an additional 5 minutes or air fry until onions are golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
