  • 12 pieces Wonton Wrappers Can substitute with tortillas or puff pastry
For the Filling
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (90/10) Substitute with turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat if desired
  • 14.5 oz Canned Petite Diced Tomatoes Drain before use
  • 0.5 White Onion, diced Can use yellow or red onions
  • 1 Tbsp Chili Powder Adjust for heat preference
  • 1 tsp Cumin Enhances taco flavor
  • 1 tsp Paprika Adds color and smokiness
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 0.5 tsp Onion Powder
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
For the Toppings
  • 1.25 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese Mexican cheese blend or pepper jack can also be used
  • Optional Toppings Sour cream, guacamole, chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes

Step-by-Step Instructions for Taco Cups
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a 12-cup muffin tin with cooking spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté diced onions for about 3 minutes until tender. Then, add ground beef with spices and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned.
  3. Drain the canned tomatoes and add to the skillet, cooking for 5-7 minutes to thicken the mixture.
  4. Press wonton wrappers into the muffin tin, layer with cheddar cheese, beef filling, a second wrapper, and top with more cheese.
  5. Bake for 13-17 minutes, ensuring edges are golden and cheese is melted.
  6. Let cool for a couple of minutes, run a knife around the edges, garnish with toppings, and serve warm.
