For the Cheese Mixture
  • 1 cup Gruyère Cheese Swiss cheese can be used but will change the taste.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Try Pecorino Romano for a different kick.
For Seasoning and Cooking
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme Substitute with oregano or rosemary if desired.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. Layer thinly sliced zucchini and yellow squash in a greased baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, combine heavy cream, Gruyère, and Parmesan cheese, then season with thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the cheesy cream mixture over the layered vegetables in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for about 40 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let the gratin rest for 10 minutes before serving.
