  • 2 cups Water Essential for steeping the spices
  • 4 sticks Cinnamon Sticks Or use ground cinnamon
  • 2 beans Vanilla Beans Or use 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 piece Star Anise Optional for extra flavor
  • 2 tablespoons Loose-leaf Black Tea Or use 1-2 tea bags
For the Creaminess
  • 2 cups Milk Use almond, coconut, or oat milk for dairy-free
For Sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon Honey Or any sweetener to taste

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a small pot, bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once boiling, carefully add 4 cinnamon sticks and split vanilla beans (or 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract) to the pot.
  3. For an aromatic twist, toss in a star anise if you have it.
  4. Turn off the heat and cover the pot, allowing the mixture to steep for 10 minutes.
  5. After steeping, add 2 tablespoons of loose-leaf black tea (or 1-2 tea bags) to the infused mixture.
  6. In a separate pot, gently warm 2 cups of milk over low heat.
  7. Use a fine mesh sieve to strain the brewed tea and spice infusion into the pot of warm milk.
  8. Stir in honey or your preferred sweetener to taste.
  9. Pour your Vanilla Cinnamon Milk Tea into your favorite mugs and enjoy!
