Step-by-Step Instructions for Classic Cucumber Sandwiches
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces of whipped cream cheese with 2 tablespoons of sour cream or mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh dill, and a pinch of kosher salt. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Take 8 slices of soft white bread and generously spread the herbed cream cheese mixture evenly on one side of each slice.
- Wash and dry 1 English cucumber, then slice it thinly (about 1/8 inch thick). Set aside on a paper towel to absorb excess moisture.
- Place a layer of cucumber slices on half of the prepared bread slices, slightly overlapping them.
- Trim off the crusts from each assembled sandwich using a serrated knife.
- Cut each sandwich into smaller portions, and arrange them on a serving platter. Garnish with extra dill or cucumber slices if desired.

Notes
Always slice cucumbers thinly and store leftovers in an airtight container with a damp paper towel to keep fresh for up to a day.
