Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by boiling 1 cup of water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once boiling, remove the pot from the heat and add your tea bags and lemon zest. Let the mixture steep for 2-3 minutes.
- Carefully remove the tea bags from the brewed tea and discard them. In a bowl, add fresh or thawed blueberries and use a fork or muddler to gently mash them until their juices begin to flow. Stir this blueberry mixture into the warm tea.
- Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the blueberry tea mixture into a large pitcher to remove the solid blueberry bits. Add cold water to the pitcher until you reach your desired dilution. Sweeten with honey or sugar, adjusting to taste, and stir well until fully dissolved.
- Place the pitcher in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes or serve it immediately over ice. Prepare tall glasses filled with ice cubes.
- Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves, a slice of lemon, and a few whole blueberries before serving.
