- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan with butter or line with parchment paper.
- Mash 2-3 very ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Combine the mashed bananas with granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted unsalted butter, then add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet banana mixture and fold gently until just combined, optionally adding chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for about 25 minutes until edges are set but the center jiggles slightly.
