Preparation
- Bring store-bought pizza dough to room temperature, or roll out homemade dough on a floured surface to ¼ inch thick.
- In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, cooked meats, fresh spinach, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Roll out the prepared dough to ¼ inch thick. Cut into 6-8 inch circles.
- Using a pizza cutter, cut the rolled dough into circular shapes about 6-8 inches in diameter.
- Scoop a generous amount of filling onto one half of the dough circle, avoiding edges.
- Fold the dough over the filling and seal edges tightly with a fork.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes. Brush tops of calzones with beaten egg.
- Place calzones in air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd.
- Cook calzones for 10-15 minutes, checking halfway for golden brown crispiness.
- Carefully cut open a calzone to check that filling is bubbly and dough is cooked.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving with marinara sauce on the side.
