Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by peeling (if desired) and coring your fresh apples, then cut them into fry-shaped sticks, approximately ½-inch thick. Pat the apple sticks dry with a paper towel.
  2. Create a three-bowl setup for breading. In Bowl 1, place flour; in Bowl 2, whisk together an egg and milk; in Bowl 3, combine panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Coat each apple stick in the flour from Bowl 1, dip in the egg wash from Bowl 2, and roll in the breadcrumb mixture from Bowl 3.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray the coated apple fries with cooking spray. Arrange the apple sticks in a single layer inside the basket.
  5. Air fry the apple fries at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Sprinkle cooked fries with extra cinnamon sugar if desired and serve warm with dipping options like caramel sauce or vanilla ice cream.
